What would you consider to be the aesthetic behind Thom Neal? For me its just the whole 'Made in England' thing - I have a great passion for UK manufactured things, because as a country we are so good at creating ‘quality’. It's such a shame that manufacturing has diminished so much. What were you doing before you formed Thom Neal?
I have done a bit of everything to be honest. I didn't know what I wanted to do for ages and left school at 17, and went ... Continue reading ...

Since my discovery of visual and performance artist Linder Sterling a number of months ago, I have been somewhat obsessed with the use of collage in every sense of the word, from modern art to an item of clothing. Yet not to worry, this obsession is a continuous one - since I have been interested in the use of collage since my research into pop artist, Robert Rauschenberg around a year ago as part of my Art & Design coursew... I'll be right beside you, dear
It's not too often that I feel that it is appropriate to post about a personal issue, and even less so when it is not my issue to share - yet on this occasion, I feel that it will be welcomed and somewhat appreciated by its recipient. I simply wanted to throw my thoughts over to Swedish blogger and journalist, Annika Murkland of According to Annika, who recently received some unfortunate news in relation to her healt... Alex & Chloe / Forever 21
It's not too often that I get myself genuinely excited about a forthcoming collection; yet since the announcement of the scheduled Alex & Chloe for Forever 21 collaboration a number of months ago, I have been taking hourly glances at my calender in the hope that the days were passing somewhat faster than usual, and although I didn't have bundles of luck or satisfaction in my endeavours, the day of the Alex & Chloe for Forever 21 collaboration coll... Currently playing: Marina and the Diamonds - Starring Role (Demo)Just in case those of you who do not obsess over Marina Diamandis of Marina and the Diamonds on a daily basis are unsure as to what this song actually means, let me outline my interpretation. As this song is demo, rather than an official release, that does mean that this is seemingly the next song which will be grabbing an official release. This will presumably take place as we head into the new year as part of Marina's soon to ... Continue reading ...
Topman / 5 Days of Christmas
Topman have recently released their 5 Days of Christmas stylist picks to fit in with their Christmas Shop concept, and I have to say that although my Christmas wish list is overly full, I'm still excited to see what outfit choices Topman have made for the holiday period. The Topman team have picked out 10 outfits which differ in someway to help dress guys everywhere for each and every possible event over the Christmas h... Continue reading ...
Alex & Chloe / Crown of Thorns Ring
(Image credit: Crown on Thorns Ring - All I See Are Brighter Days by Alex & Chloe.) Even though I consider myself to be somewhat in the know when it comes to the Alex & Chloe Trinity collection (as it is one of the first collections I came across when I discovered Alex & Chloe and the same collection which originally drew me to the label, alongside the Forever and Never collection which included a delightful array of abstract and acrylic items), I have only recently began paying attention ... Even though I've mentioned it numerous times via the blog Facebook page and various additional social feeds, I thought that it would be somewhat appropriate to publicly announce my Tumblr photo-feed. That's right, I've been somewhat dragged into the fad that is Tumblr. I will be using Tumblr as a an expansion of That's so New York, yet please do let me reassure you that this is still going to remain the original and official space for the blog, forever and always. On Tumblr I will simply be p... Continue reading ...

Despite the fact that London-based designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Richard Nicoll posts regularly in his very own section of The Vogue Blog, I will admit that his work is still somewhat new to me and as a person, Nicoll is not someone I have delved deeply into when it comes to flicking through magazines, reading collection reviews and even carrying out a little research every now and then. After discoverin... Continue reading ...

Once again I have the delightful invention that is the e-newsletter to thank for the discovery of London-based designer, James Hock. I have recently began taking an interest in not just the unique and slightly odd, but also the outright bizarre, which brings me back to the work of James Hock. James is what I would describe as the epitome of alternative design, as his fascination with fringing and what seems to be a form of shredding techniques is beyond astonishi... Continue reading ...
